San Diego's only Surf, Skate and Music Festival will be happening at Belmont Park in Mission Beach on Saturday, September 14th. The Final stop of The Sun Diego Am Slam Surf & Skate Series presented by VANS is also the largest with over $8,000 up for grabs in the Pro-Am divisions.  The Am Slam is the only amateur surf/skate contest series in Southern California and is designed to give local surfers and skaters of all ages the opportunity to compete and excel. Over 30 of the Top Brands in the Surf & Skate industry will be represented at the last event!! The brands include: Vans, RVCA, Volcom, Stance, Nike, Quiksilver, Reef, Nixon, Salty Crew, and many more... bringing games, freebies, fun and excitement to the finale. The $5,000 BEST TRICK Pro-Am Skate Event features a custom Mega Mashup Obstacle, a custom built replica of 3 of San Francisco's most iconic skate spots.*

WALLENBERG FOUR: Located at Wallenberg High, this insanely long set measures 6 feet high and 22 feet and 6 inches long. While the stair set is still there the school has re-profiled the "run up" to the set so it is no longer possible to use Vega St to gain speed, it has to be obtained from a ramp or roll in, or by gaining speed in some other form as we have replicated here on our obstacle.

HUBBA HIDEOUT: One of the most famous skateboarding spots, it was located in San Francisco near the Justin Herman Plaza on The Embarcadero. Its central features are two over-sized sets of 6 stairs with large concrete ledges on each side.  Destroyed by the city in 2011 this spot will always be a major part of skateboarding history.
SF STATE KINK RAIL: Also know as the "Pat Duffy Rail", this kinked rail was made famous when Pat absolutely annihilated it during his Plan B Questionable video part from 1992.  While many tricks went down on this rail his backside smith grind was probably the most mind-blowing given the time period.
Returning for this year is a beer garden sponsored by 10 BARREL BREWING CO.  Try some of their amazing IPA's or their specialty Crush blends of beer featuring fruit infusion!  Their mantra is "Brew beer, drink beer and having fun doing it!" The surf portion of the event hosts 6 different divisions for boys and girls of all ages and skill.  There's $2,000 up for grabs in thePro/Am division, and tons of prizes, trophies and bragging rights to be handed out to the rest of the field. Spectators are always free and this years Sun Diego Am Slam Finale is one that should not be missed!  We hope you'll join us for some great surfing, skating, beer, music, food and plenty of freebies from all our sponsors.  The contest is open to anyone who wishes to compete and registration can be done online at Sundiego.com. The surfing will start the day off promptly at 7:00 am, with the skating and vendor tent city starting shortly after at 10:00 am.  Everyone is encouraged to come down to Belmont Park in Mission Beach and witness world class surfing and skateboarding right here in your own backyard! 3126 Mission Blvd.  San Diego, 92109 To register for the skate event click here.
