The 2014 Oakley Surf Shop Challenge was held again this year at Seaside Reef. Top shops from all around San Diego came out to compete for their team to win a trip to Central America. Check out video and photos covering the event here!
Once again Team Sun Diego agreed to compete in the Oakley Surf Shop Challenge against our top boardshop competitors for a chance to win an all paid trip to an undisclosed location in Central America. We came prepared with TWO stacked teams - Sun Diego Carlsbad: Danny Woodruff, Ben Kelley, Ricky Whitlock, and Damien Hobgood + Sun Diego Mission Beach: Taylor Clark, Sean Taylor, Tyler Aishton, and Philip Castellanos. Each team did their best but only Team Mission Beach ended up advancing to the finals.
Talent can only go so far when your dealing with poor conditions and timing! Our Mission Beach team ended up taking fourth in the finals leaving Surf Ride Oceanside in first place. Congrats to them and everyone else who competed and made this year's Shop Challenge another successful one!
