This summer is going to be a slam with Sun Diego and Vans getting it fired up! Also we’re proud to announce we have the best line up of sponsors to date with: Nixon, Spy, Leus, Creatures of Leisure, Surface, Stance, FCS.
There will be four events, in all, over the summer:June 3rd – San Clemente Pier ($1,000 prize purse) July 14th – PB Drive ($1,000 prize purse) August 18th – OB Pier ($1,000 prize purse) October 13th – Mission Beach ($1,000 prize purse) 3126 Mission Blvd. San Diego, 92109 Our last event will be our largest this year. It will be a huge surf and skate festival with a huge vendor tent city, and six grand up for grabs! It will be double points rated. There are Six Point Rated divisions in all : *14 & Under: Boys 14 & Under Shortboard - Top 4 receive a trophies and prize packs. *15 - 17: Boys 15 to 17 Shortboard - Top 4 receive a trophies and prize packs. *Pro-Am: All Ages - the most advanced competitors competing for cash prizes. * Men's Long Board: All Ages Men's Longboard - Top 4 receive a trophies and prize packs * Women's Long Board: All Ages Women's Longboard - Top 4 receive a trophies and prize packs * Women's Short Board: All Ages Women's Shortoards - Top 4 receive a trophies and prize Points will be accumulated per event surfed and the final event of the season will be double points rated so anything can happen! The Am Slam is an amateur surf contest series, designed to give local surfers the opportunity to compete in and excel. Although there will be some great prizes and trophies given out to top placing surfers at each stop, the overall winners will be the ones who will take home the CA$H and the title of SUN DIEGO’S 2018 AM SLAM SURF SERIES CHAMPION! Anyone can enter the Open Division if you think you have the skills. The Open Division awards cash instead of prizes! Keep in mind, your accumulated points will remain within your division, so if you decide to enter your age division AND the Open Division, it is perfectly legal, but your points from the 2 Divisions are not added together. HOW DO I REGISTER? Each participant can either pre-register at sundiego.com or if there is still room left in your division on the day of the contest, you may be able to register on-site the day of. However, pre-registering on the website is your best bet for getting in the contest as there is a very limited amount of spots per division. HOW MUCH IS THE ENTRY FEE? All Divisions are $40 to enter except for the Pro-Am division which is $60 dollars to enter. |
